We’re very happy to announce another year of Odyssey of Speed – our speed windsurfing event which is taking place at all windsurfing spots in Greece, which are registered under www.gps-speedsurfing.com in the tradition of the ancient Greek hero Odysseus, who had several adventures to overcome.
The philosophy of this challenge is to bring together people from around the world, which enjoy the same passion of windsurfing in strong winds at high speeds. Therefore the participation is open for everyone in the windsurfing community from all skill levels from fun sailors up to serious including professional level. Rather than focussing on maximum speed only, the Odyssey of Speed is dealing with various disciplines of speed/slalom surfing. In this way we would like to motivate also Greek and International recreational windsurfers at any Greek beach to get involved, who might be reluctant to compete on pure and specialized speed events and/or who might not have the highly specialized equipment. Finally the best allrounder across all disciplines will be crowned as the Odysseus of Speed 2021 !
The Odyssey of Speed will be based on current GPS-measuring standards and rules. So let’s go, come this summer to GREECE and KARPATHOS, grab a GPS and compete with some of the best speedsurfers in the world at one of the windiest places in the world!!
